High-resolution Imagery

Juxtaview is software that is used to browse through extremely high-resolution images. http://www.evl.uic.edu/cavern/optiputer/juxtaview.html

We have images for:

  1. San Diego Wildfires: 8772x20684 mosaic, single swath acquired by Landsat on 2003-10-26. Includes San Bernardino and Camp Pendleton fires; Data courtesy of: USGS EROS Data Center

  2. Mars Rover Images: The panoramic images captured by the ‘PanCam’ (Panoramic Camera) on the Spirit and Opportunity rovers can be conveniently examined on the IBM T221 displays.

  3. San Diego City Aerial Photography: The USGS EROS data center has captured 2035 sq miles of the San Diego region at very high resolution (1 pixel = 0.3m). The data was gathered on March 3, 2003. Each tile is 8580x8580 pixels i.e. a region of 2574 x 2574m and is approximately 200 MB.
