Geoscientists from Scripps and visualization specialists from met in San Francisco’s Moscone center for the 2004 AGU conference. There was a booth showcasing the Ridge 2000 program as well as booths for SIO and IGPP. 3-D visualizations were showcased this year on new 30” Apple HD Cinema displays. There were also a large number of posters with topics ranging from the geosciences to advanced visualization systems.

Dr. Mellor's SDSU undergraduate/graduate Interpretation of Seismic Data and Visualization (Geo647) attended a session at the SIO VizCenter to experience data visualization on the wall-sized Panoram screen. The visit, led by Debi Kilb, included an interactive tour of local, regional, and global seismicity distribution along with an examination of real-time seismic data recorded in the San Diego region.
